A reimagined scope objective lens cover.
There are many scope covers available on the market, most snaps open/close with a spring to provide tension.
The cover from Department of Techne follows a different approach - A shock (bungee) cord is used to keep the cover secure in the open position, and additional magnets to keep the cap secured at the close position.
Made with state-of-the-art HP Multi Jet Fusion using black-died PA12 material, supplied with stainless steel pins, screws, nuts, and 1/8 shock cord.

PVS 30 lens cover.
Excellent design. Much better than the Knight factory rubber cover.

Dept of Techne PVS-30 lens cap
Well-made and a significant improvement over the factory Knight’s Armament rubber cap. Great, snug fit over the lens housing. Better than other after-market caps (e.g. Butler Creek, Vortex) would be for the same purpose. If you’re going to pay $6-12k for a PVS-30, why not an extra $89 to protect it properly? One gripe: it should come in a tan option (half the PVS-30s out there are tan) but it was easy to Krylon.
